Closed Until Further Notice

I just wrapped this one up. I had made the buildings a while back, but the image lacked an interesting hook. I added these creepy pods and it did do the trick. This one was rendered in the very latest release of Maxwell Studio which is the stand alone aspect of Maxwell Render. I had to learn the package, and while it does have its quirks, I think I prefer it over the 3DS Max integrated Maxwell... If that makes sense.

The lighting came together just as I had envisioned, but please let me know if you think it could be better.

The Salty Dog

I get inspired by old trains, boats, and machinery. This image was modeled in 3ds Max, rendered in Maxwell, and had textures created in Photoshop. The concept is an old boat that is just drifting out at sea with no one on board. What happened to the people?

I think they died.

Home Sweet Home

This is a piece I created using Maxwell Render, 3ds Max, Advanced Painter, and Photoshop. The sky image is part of an acrylic painting. It is meant to be a spooky dwelling place for some alien life form.
Maxwell Render is a program that has a strength for rendering geometry. For this piece, I took advantage of that and tried to use simple, but heavy geometry. Advanced painter allowed me to add all the straws, sticks and flowers quickly and easily. If you look closely you'll notice how simple the geometry actually is.
